BaseCamp
BaseCamp Integration is here! We wanted to integrate with BaseCamp but not make it a requirement for all members of the workspace so we brainstormed a bit and here is what you can expect:
- Each ConceptShare account/domain can be tied with a particular set of BaseCamp credentials (we recommend using a proxy/dedicated BaseCamp user account for the ConceptShare integration). This is tied under Account Settings.
- Each ConceptShare workspace can (optionally) be tied to a BaseCamp project and you can also pick a project category and select a list of BaseCamp members that should be notified/subscribed to the messages (in the Edit Workspace lightbox).
- Each concept (when uploaded) will create a message inside BaseCamp which will contain an image of the concept along with a link to the workspace. Note that if a video/animation is used in ConceptShare the image will be the first frame.
- Each comment in ConceptShare will be a comment to the message in BaseCamp, complete with an image of the markup and what the user said.
- Each reply in ConceptShare will be injected inline with the original comment with what the user said.
You can begin using the BaseCamp integration by providing BaseCamp credentials under the Account Settings page. Then in the Edit Workspace lightbox is where you tie a workspace to a BaseCamp project. That's all you have to do!
File Library
We have added the ability for you to add your own assets to a file library which you can then use as you are commenting and create layouts (read more about layouts below). File library assets DO count towards your file storage limit. For example, you can upload an image of your signature and 'sign-off' on things, or upload your logo to help with generating layouts for your new website.
Stock Art
So you have a file library with the ability to upload assets but suppose you don't have the right photo or stock for the situation? Not to worry we have hooked up with IStockPhoto and Fotolia to allow you to search their vast image repository and even allow you to drag the images onto your concepts to see how they look. Even better when you save the comment or layout these assets end up in your file library so that you can quickly find them again when it comes time to purchase the stock!
Asset / Stock Art Cropping
Found that perfect stock art to fit the bill but only need part of the image? No worries you can now even crop stock art images and file library images on the fly and insert them into your layouts and comments! Great for using 'icon pack' images and cutting out the icons you need! You can find the crop tool in the lower right corner of any Stock Art or File Library thumbnail.
Layouts
So now you have these cool tools at your disposal such as file library assets, stock art, and cropping, you are probably thinking, "Hey, I could mock up an entire website, flyer, ad, etc. but it has to go in a comment for it to work, that isn't very ideal." Well, now you can create blank 'layouts' which allow you to use all the tools that you have available while commenting and when you are done you can save the layout. Once you are happy with a layout you can "Publish" it which will create a new concept, with all the comment tools 'flattened' into an image that you can now comment on top of!
Need to make changes? No problem go back to the layout and click edit, make your changes, and publish a new concept!
Bug Fixes / Minor Changes
- The duplicate comment issue (sometimes your comment list would double when the workspace was loaded) has been resolved.
- We have fixed an issue with the chat dialog showing inappropriate events. This was noticable by a 'stacking' effect of the username with no chat text.
- A few bug fixes to the "Save Zoom" feature which would inappropriately reposition the concept.
- "Save Zoom" will now be carried over to the print summary comment markup images. If save zoom was used, it will crop to those dimensions, otherwise it will auto crop based on the tools used.
