Welcome!

ConceptShare is pleased to announce that it has begun to provide a web services (SOAP) API.

You can review the basic documentation for the SOAP API at http://api.conceptshare.com/API/API_V2.asmx

The web service provides access to a wide range of ConceptShare functionality and content including:

* Workspace Management functions (invite members, upload concepts, generates approval requests etc.)
* Account Management functions (create, enable, disable, delete workspaces, account statistics, etc.)
* Partnership functions (Create ConceptShare accounts)

The API is designed to allow the ConceptShare community to expand the functionality of ConceptShare, provide useful tools for the community, or integrate more closely with your workflow.

We are now pleased to make the API generally available for use by the ConceptShare community.

Requesting Access To The API

In order to use the API's regular functions (i.e. workspace and account functions), the only requirement is a paid account.

Once you have a paid account just point to the webservice for your particular account which is the same as the link above but with your choosen domain name. For example, http://yourdomain.conceptshare.com/API/API_V2.asmx. This is very important as you will not be able to do most of the functions in the API unless you route it through your domain account.

Partner API functions require a partner API key. If you are interested in a partnership with ConceptShare, please contact the Sales team [sales@conceptshare.com].

Other than the above restrictions, we are fairly open to proposals.

Getting Help and Finding Answers

The online generated SOAP documentation will be the most up-to-date information on the method calls. However, you can download the help file [attached] which should give a little more description into the method calls and their parameters.

If you are still unsure or have questions please feel free to post them in the appropriate API forum. In the future, we will most likely have a marketplace type forum where you can have a dedicated thread for your product that was created using the API (after approval from the ConceptShare team). This will allow you to make announcements, and track bugs for your product and also allow you to market it to the ConceptShare community.
